2014 William Alburger Functional Wood Artist, Day Three- Triskeles Staff Site Visit

Nathan and CJ seemed to be enjoying the experience interning with wood artist, Bill Alburger. Both fellows had some knowledge of carpentry and had used some of the tools before. But, they did get a chance to try their hand at using some new machinery and learned about Bill's creative process.

CJ and Nathan assisted Bill with a couple of wall art pieces (pictured below) which they kindly laid out so I could see what they had done over the last two days. Additionally, they had a chance to collect wood scraps, design, and construct their own picture frames using re-purposed and junk wood.  They were working on some aesthetic touch-ups to their frames while I was there. It was interesting to see all of the projects at their current stage in the process, although there was still work to be done before they were complete.

Unfortunately, I had to leave so I missed out on their afternoon adventure to the sawmill next door. They planned to visit Kenny's sawmill and learn the process of milling logs into lumber later on in the day.

It seemed as though all involved were having a learning experience, working hands-on.
